Creating blog titles/headlines can get to be a little overwhelming at times and there are definitely days that your brain just goes blank on what to write about.

You may be asking yourself,

“Why would I want to create 30 blog titles in 20 minutes?”

Before we get into how to do it, let’s take a look at why you should.

It is extremely important to keep your blog page moving and growing with content daily. When you create blog posts every day, you will begin to get noticed as an authority in your niche. You will also reap the benefits of Google getting to know you as a site that has the right information seekers are looking for. Can you say Google Love without smiling? J

It’s all about building a reputation and getting traffic to your site every single day. In order to get you set up and basically on auto-pilot posting with killer headlines and posts, you need some great headlines to start with.

Every month, I take about 20 minutes out of my day to create 30 blog headlines that will then be turned into posts over the next two days following.

How I Personally Create 30 Blog Headlines in 20 Minutes:

Step 1:

Depending on what blog site I am working on, I ask myself what questions folks would be looking to have answered within that particular niche.

Step 2:

I write down in my notepad 30 questions regarding the niche, categories and/or sub-categories I have on my site.

These questions usually come in the form of: How, What, Why and When. For this example I will use my niche for this site, which is Blogging.

Examples:

How do I start a new Blog?

What are the best plug-ins to use?

Why am I getting 404 error codes?

When is the best time to post a Blog?

How do I make money with my blog?

I take questions like these and then put them in the form of an answer for the headlines. In most cases my headlines are geared toward using steps to help give the information folks are looking for.

Step 3:

Take the questions and turn them into headlines.

For instance: If I ask the question “How do I start a new Blog?” I will create at least 2- 5 compelling headlines that are geared toward that question.

Headline Examples:

“How to Create a New Blog Site in Less than 30 minutes”

This headline is for someone that wants to do something fast.

“Top 5 Questions for New Bloggers Answered”

This headline is for someone that is serious about learning how to blog and has some major questions.

“What Every New Blogger Should Know Before Starting a Blog Site”

This headline is for someone that is ready to start blogging but wants to do it the right way and is a bit timid to start.

“How to Start Your First Blog Using WordPress”

This is a headline targeted specifically for folks that know about WordPress but do not know where to start.

By using that one question, I just created 4 headlines for my posts that are relevant to the question. So…. if you take 10 questions and come up with 3 answers on average for each question, you will have 30 headlines.

The above headlines are answering questions I know beginning bloggers are looking for.

How do I know?

They are the same questions I had when I started Blogging.

They pop up constantly in places like Yahoo Answers, Twitter, and other social networks and forums.

My subscribers ask me questions on how to do things online.

Note: All of your titles can be changed if they are not converting well when you use the All in One SEO plug-in. I am creating a video that will go over that and will post it on my YouTube Channel at: http://www.youtube.com/affiliatereviewguru

Step #4:

After you have created you 30 blog headlines, start writing your blog posts. Take the next two days to complete this task and line them up for publication one post a day.

If you are new to using Google Adsense Ads, Please know that your wordpress site must be one that you own. Meaning you need to get your own domain and hosting.

If you have not set up your own self hosted site yet; you will need to do that first. Go to http://www.affiliatelearninglinks.com for some free video instructions.

If you are already set up with a wordpress site that you own, please continue reading the steps for putting the Google Adsense Ad codes on your site.

Adsense Ads Codes in Posts Step#1:

You must first set up your account with Google Adsense. To do this simply go to :

https://www.google.com/adsense/

Set up your account with the Google Adsense Partner Program.

If you are already set up, proceed to step 2.

Adsense Ads Codes in Posts Step #2:

Once you have your Adsense Ad code ready from Google, you will highlight the code and copy it.

To copy it hit your ctrl +c on your keyboard or right click on your mouse for the drop down menu.

Next, go to your WordPress dashboard where you are writing your blog post.

Adsense Ads Codes in Posts Step#3:

“Putting your link in your post”

When you start your post, decide where you think the best placement for your adsense ad will be. I have found that for Adsense specific sites, it is best to put the code at the top of the posts.

To put the link in your post, you must be in the HTML tab to do so.

Paste the code in your post while in the html setting.

Adsense Ads Codes in Posts Step#4:

Preview your post before publishing to ensure your code has be properly embedded. To do this you will see the preview link just above the publish link in your dashboard.

If you are reading this post you are most likely just getting started with Affiliate Marketing.

Awesome!

This post will go over the simple steps of how to put your links on your blog site or sites.

Affiliate Links Step#1:

Grab your affiliate code from the vendor you will be promoting. Be sure to cloak or hide your affiliate link from prying eyes. There are two ways to hide or cloak your affiliate link. “You can do it by hand or by using software”. I personally use Ninja software simply because it saves me tons of time.

Affiliate Links Step#2:

Once you have your code ready, copy it and bring it to your wordpress blog site. Log in to your WP account and go to your dashboard. You have two choices on where to put affiliate links or banners with affiliate codes embedded.

Putting your link directly in your post:

To do this, simply start writing your post. Choose a key word to highlight.

Example Post:

I am writing a post about how to put affiliate links on your blog sites. It is always a good idea to hide your affiliate links with link cloaking software so your links are safe from internet link thieves.

“Notice the highlighted text above?” That is an example of what your text link will look like. The affiliate link attached to it goes to my affiliate link for a link cloaking software program.

Affiliate Links Step#3:

Like it or not, your blog is constantly under attack from comment spammers.

When I first started blogging, I really had no idea of how bad it was or the flood of spam comments I would get.

I mean, the first post I ever wrote was scary enough just to hit the publish button but I was excited to get it out there. I was even more excited to see the comments coming in. Excited up until I saw how many and what they were about ;(

This may be familiar to you is you are new to blogging:

Uh… Wait “What’s This Language and Why are there so many?” Argggg… links to disgusting sites, links to you just got hacked, links to really embarrassing offers for enhancements, drugs and all kind of other crap. Oh No!!!!!!

How To: Protect Your Blog From Comment Spam:

Time To Set Up: Approximately 10 minutes if this is your first time.

This is really important and should not be over looked. Protecting your site from all those spammers out there from the get go will save you tons of headaches and keep your blog site clean for the search engines. If you miss this step, you may find that your comments section has hundreds of offers and links to some really bad sites that promote some pretty disturbing product.

What to use to protect your site from comment spam:

Get the Akismet Plug-in. You will find it in your dashboard on the left hand side if you are using WordPress. Click on the plug-ins link. You will be taken to a new window.

Next you will see a search plug-ins tab with a box. Type in “Akismet” this will take you a new window were you will find the Akismet plug-in. Click the install button.

After installing you will need to activate the plug-in. You then be asked for you API key. If you do not have that yet, you can request one to be emailed to you.

Once you have your API key, past it in the box where they ask for it. Hit save.

You are now safe to post:)

Features

Monitors links in your posts, pages, comments, the blogroll, and custom fields (optional).

Detects links that don’t work and missing images.

Notifies you on the Dashboard if any are found.

Also detects redirected links.

Makes broken links display differently in posts (optional).

Link checking intervals can be configured.

Searching and filtering links by URL, anchor text and so on is also possible.

Each link can be edited or unlinked directly via the plugin’s page, without manually editing each post.

I love this plug-in! It is fast and powerful. Simple to set up and has saved me many times.

So why publish your posts in the am?

This is a simple but effective strategy pro bloggers use to get their posts on the top of rss feeds in the morning.

Professional bloggers know that most folks will read blog posts related to their industry in the morning before they hit the road to get to the office.

Note: This strategy is primarily used for business related industry blogs.

Once at the office they are less likely to read posts during the day.

If a reader has subscribed to your rss feed, and you post it later in the day, chances are your post will fall to the bottom of their feeds by the next morning.

This is a lesson I learned from Don Crowther who is by the way one of the Internets’s most respected marketing coaches. When I started using this strategy, it was a game changer that gave me some serious blogging power for all of my sites.

Posting early in the morning between 7:00am and 8:00am Eastern Standard Time covers you for the folks on Pacific Standard Time since they are in range of a three hour difference behind the East Coast.

You can set your time of publication in your dashboard on WordPress where the publish button is.

Set up is easy for this and should take you about two minutes.

Step #1:

Log into your WordPress admin and look for the Settings tab on the left hand side of your dashboard panel. Settings is closer to the bottom

Step #2. Be certain you have the right time settings for your state or country. In many cases your exact state may not be listed.

Example: Country: America

State: Ga. “There is not a time zone stated for Georgia, so the compatible option for the Atlanta, Ga. Time zone will be New York.”

Step # 3:

Choose the time format you want. There are default formats and custom formats. I find it best to keep with regular time instead of military time.

Step #4:

When you are finished writing your post, you will see an edit link just above the publish button.

Click on the edit button and set the day and time you want to publish your post. It’s that simple.

Why Strategic Bloggers Set Their Posts to Publish Between 7am and 8am.

Blogging Tip # 1: Planning Out Your Blog Site

Plan your blog out carefully. Think about how you want your layout, your structure and your categories to flow. What is your targeted Niche for your blog site? In other words, what is your site about specifically?

Blogging Tip # 2: Your Targeted Readers

Keep your posts relevant to what your readers are expecting out of your blog site.

Example: if your site is about let’s say, “Scuba Diving” for instance; only post blogs about that niche. Do not toss in random posts about your cat. “Unless of course; your cat is scuba diving”. Keep personal blogs on your personal blog site.

Blogging Tip # 3: Creating Categories For Your Blog Site

Create categories for your niche.

Example: Your main topic is Scuba Diving.

Category: Scuba Gear

Sub-Category: Scuba Masks

Sub- Category: Wet Suites

Sub- Category: Scuba Tanks

Category: Scuba Diving Hot Spots

Sub-Category: East Coast Hot Spots

Drop down sub-categories:

Florida Hot Spots

Georgia Hot Spots

Sub-Category: West Coast Hot Spots

Drop down sub-categories:

Southern California Hot Spots

Northern California Hot Spots

This step should be done with all of your categories as you see fit.

Blogging Tip # 4: Creating Blog Headlines That Are Compelling and Keyword Rich

Create compelling headlines to your posts.

You want to capture an emotional feeling in your headlines that will peak the interest of your readers.

Example:

5 Scuba Diving Hot Spots in San Diego That You May Not Know About

Your readers will definitely want to know where they are and what makes them hot spots.

Blogging Tip # 5: Creating Blog Posts with Keyword Rich Content

Keep your posts natural and primarily for your readers but also put in relative keywords that the search engines will pick up on so your post gets some search engine love. Google is looking for posts that are relative to what your readers are searching for. If your posts have rich keywords in your content, Google will give you the love you need to get your post seen by those that are seeking the information you are giving. Think about what keywords you are competing for. In this instance, you would be competing for the search on what folks are typing in to know “Where to Scuba Dive in San Diego” possibly. Or, they may type in “Scuba Diving in San Diego”. People use different terms when they search. Your headline and posts should think about the message and who it is for.

enhanced by: utility poster

There are actually quite a few strategies you can use right now to start generating income from your blog site.

What you will need to consider first is what it is that you want your blog to do.

Here are some key questions you should ask yourself first.

Do I want my blog to focus on generating money with Google Adsense Ads and/or other types of ads that I run on my site?

Do I want my blog to focus on affiliate products that are relevant to my blog site?

Do I want my blog to focus on collecting email addresses so I can offer my own products and other affiliate types of products to my subscribers?

When looking for ways to make money with your blog, you really need to dig down deep and focus on how you are monetizing your site. What is the core focus?

Is your site geared toward digital downloads and information type products?

Is your site geared toward a specific product that is shipped out? A tangible product or products?

Is your site geared toward selling your own product?

Are you educated in how to actually market and promote your site?

Does your domain name reflect what your blog site is about?

Are your blog posts relevant and filled with information that will benefit your reader for what it is they are seeking?

Do you know how to get visitors to your site?

Alright, let’s get down to the nitty gritty on each core focus.

Adsense Focused Blog Sites:

If you are looking to set your site up primarily as an Adsense type of site then focus on placements with your Adsense ads for the best conversion. Don’t just randomly toss up some ads and hope for the best…

Be strategic about them. Keep messing and tweaking them until you see some conversions. Test Test Test. Look at what colors you are using and at the size of the ads you are putting up. Do the text ads out- weigh banner style ads?

Learn and study everything you can about Google Adsense Ads. There is a ton of information specifically on how to monetize your site that is focused on generating money from putting ads on your site.

Here is a link to a site that teaches specifically about how to build an Adsense Site.

Affiliate Blog Sites:

Most affiliate blog sites are in the form of writing reviews about affiliate products. But how targeted are you with what you are promoting as an affiliate marketer?

So many would be great affiliates have given up simply because they lack the proper education in the Marketing piece of Affiliate Marketing.

So how do the super affiliate marketers turn up the heat on their blogs to make money?

They do it in two very focused ways and use many different strategies that are focused on each product that is promoted.

Strategy #1 for Affiliate Blog Sites:

Each blog headline is laser targeted to the product they are promoting.

Example for a digital downloadable information affiliate product:

If the product is for an information product; a review will usually be written about it along with a “special offer” that will be thrown in to create a higher value if you purchase the product through their affiliate link. Pictures of the product and video demonstrations and or video conversations about the products features are a big plus that the super affiliates use to increase sales conversions.

Example for a tangible affiliate product:

If the product is a tangible product that is shipped, the affiliate marketer with skill will create a headline with the specific product name and possibly the model number or item code in that headline. The article/blog post will give complete information on the product as well as how to use it or what the great features and benefits are to it. Pictures are added and if the affiliate is really on the ball a video will go through the functionality of the said product either with a power point presentation or an actual live video demonstrating the product.

Strategy #2 for Affiliate Blog Sites:

All Professional Affiliate Marketers know for a fact that having and email list is the number one thing you want on any of your sites. Whether it’s a blog site or a mini sales page, you should always focus on obtaining an email address so you never lose contact with that prospective client or information seeker for the targeted niche on your site. Opt-in boxes are on every single page with a trade of some sort that will entice the visitor to accept your invitation in trade for their email address. The best form of trading is to offer a free information guide, e-book or free video tutorials on something they want to learn about. The offer for the free product will be relevant to the blog site that the opt-in box is placed on.

Example:

If your Affiliate Product site is targeted in the Camera niche, you would offer free tips on “creating lighting effects” or something along that nature. This is your target audience that is looking to learn from you and will be hungry for your information. It’s a fair trade that makes sense.

Conclusion: Your blog site should always have a plan of what it is being built for. You should see some major results if you actually know what results you are looking for.

Recently I created a video on blogging and let my viewers know about some mistakes I made with a few of my blog sites in the beginning ,including my Bloggomaniac site. How ironic is it that the site I have about blogging is the first site I made these mistakes on…

So, without any further ado, I am sharing my personal mistakes that I have made and some I have seen others make, so you don’t have to.

Blogging Mistakes #1.

Not having your own domain name and your own hosting account. If you are using a free blogging platform and free hosting, you are seriously setting yourself up for a loss. Free blogging and hosting can be taking away at any time and without notification. If you work at your blog to generate readership and income, you can lose it all in a matter of minutes.

Blogging Mistakes # 2.

Not planning your blog layout and goal of your site from the beginning. When you have no plan on how you want your blog site to function, you are pretty much flying by the seat of your pants.

Blogging Mistakes # 3.

Using article cast type services and allowing others to put content on your blog without moderation. This was a Huge problem for this site here. I allowed others to post on my blog and didn’t pay attention to what they were posting. I just did not know any better at the time and listened to the wrong people about allowing it. Don’t do that!

Blogging Mistakes #4.

Not having a privacy policy page. If you are capturing extra income from Google Adsense ads running on your site and you do not have a privacy policy, you will not be compensated.

Blogging Mistakes #5.

Not having an email opt-in box on your site. When you have no way to re-connect with your visitors you can lose them forever as a possible returning visitor or client.

My Personal Biggest Blogging Mistake and What I Used To Fix it:

the biggest mistake I ever made on my bog site was letting other folks auto post content on it. I did not know exactly what I was dealing with when I signed up for an article cast type of software. Big Fat Mistake on my end for not paying attention!

Anyhow, what it did was post articles on this site that were not relevant. Some were duplicate content articles and some were just plain old spammy type of enchiladas…

O.k, so I got over it and stopped the madness that was being generated on my blog. Lesson Learned.

Here is the plug in that saved me in the end. It is free on wordpress and just kicks major butt. It’s the ‘Hide Post” plug in and I am happy as a clam with it.

I created this little video to show you all how to use it the right way.

Happy Blogging!
